VMware Certified Professional – Desktop

1.1 Purpose of Exam 

The VMware Certified Professional 6 – Desktop and Mobility Exam (2V0-651) tests certification candidates on their skills and abilities implementing, installing, and configuring a VMware Horizon 6.x environment deployed on a VMware vSphere implementation. Successful candidates demonstrate mastery of skills and abilities across both vSphere and VMware View knowledge domains.

1.2 Intended Audience

 A candidate for the VCP6-DTM certification has a foundation in vSphere implementation and administration. The candidate possesses typical vSphere skills, including creating and administering virtual machines, configuring host networking and storage and working with DRS, HA and other cluster-related vSphere features. The candidate has built upon this foundation with 6-12 months of experience working with VMware Horizon. The candidate should have experience installing and configuring View, Mirage, and Workspace and maintaining a Horizon environment. The successful candidate will most likely have additional industryrecognized general IT certifications or equivalent experience (typically 2-5 years). 

2.1 Introduction 

It is recommended that candidates have the knowledge and skills necessary to administer VMware Horizon and VMware vSphere environments before taking the VCP6-DTM Exam. It is also suggested that the candidate complete the recommended courses prior to attempting the exam.

 2.2 Objectives 

Prior to taking this exam, candidates should understand each of the exam objectives. Each objective is listed below; along with related tools the candidate should have experience with, and related documentation that contains information relevant to the objective. All objectives may also be referenced in other product documentation not specifically highlighted below. The candidate should be familiar with all relevant product documentation or have an equivalent skill set. 

VMware provides a practice exam for the VCP6-DTM Exam. The practice exam contains sample questions, along with explanation for incorrect responses. The practice exam presents 25 questions, written by the same authors of the actual exam. The practice exam pass score is set to 100%, and a candidate can retake the practice exam as many times as desired until the 100% score is achieved.
